Limited Edition Artist Signature Series Briefing Time B-25J 43-27638 489BS, 340BG, 12AF, 57BW While serving with the 489th, Briefing time completed 126 missions from May 16, 1944-April 26, 1945. This a/c shares credit for sinking the Italian cruiser Taranto. This Panel's nose art is also on a B-25 operated by the Mid Atlantic Air Museum in the air show circuit today although the colors are not as accurate. In this original rare color photo, it seems that the name has been removed in the photo at top right. There was another B-25 in the same squadron named "Quiting Time" with the same Varga girl suggesting that 43-27638 had the name removed. In the photo at left, the OD green top camo has not yet been applied. Cole - Doolittle's Co-Pilot Crew 1 * Maj Thomas C. Griffin - Navigator Crew 2 16 B-25's came from the 17 BG which was made up of the 34th, 37th, 95th, and 89th squadrons. Lawson and his crew crashed in the China Sea after a successful bombing of Tokyo. The B-25 pictured at left is the aircraft used in the movie "30 Seconds Over Tokyo". Our panel was re-created from Lawson's description of the art work in his book "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo". This is the new enhanced version. Signing occurred on June 6, 2009 (D-Day Anniversary).
